The European Smoking Tobacco Association (ESTA) represents the interests of the fine cut tobacco industry with respect to European discussions and legislative developments.
ESTA was founded in 1990 in Brussels by the German and Dutch smoking tobacco associations (VdR and VNK). ESTA represents the interests of the European manufacturers, distributors and importers of fine-cut (rolling) tobacco, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco and nasal snuff tobacco.
The members of ESTA are predominantly small and medium sized companies and include national industry associations from countries in the European Union and the European Economic Area.

The interests of the cigarette industry in Europe are represented by the Confederation of European Community Cigarette Manufacturers (CECCM).
The European cigar industry is represented by ECMA, the European Cigar Manufacturers Association (www.ecma.eu).
In The Netherlands
The interests of the cigar industry in the Netherlands are represented by NVS, Nederlandse Vereniging voor de Sigarenindustrie (www.sigaar.nl).
De Stichting Sigarettenindustrie (SSI) represents the interests of the cigarette industry in the Netherlands.
